Czarface meets Metal Face

"The undergroup hip-hop group Czarface - made up of Wu-Tang Clan member Inspectah Deck, MC Esoteric and producer 7L - get more super still, with the addition of metal-masked rapper MF Doom. This Avengers-style squad, already nerdily fixated on comic books and prone to supervillainous pronouncements regarding their prowess - be it lyrical, sexual or pharmaceutical - are given very free rein, and there are some ponderous skits for guys to giggle at alone with their vinyl figurines".

"'Czarface meets Metal Face' forsøger at genkalde sig hiphoppen, som den så ud i årene efter årtusindeskiftet. Håndværket er solidt uden dog at kunne konkurrere med den epokes hovedværker - og man bliver derfor aldrig for alvor overbevist om værdien af dette tidsvakuum".

"This comic-book crossover between MF DOOM, Wu-Tang's Inspectah Deck, and Boston duo 7L & Esoteric attempts to evoke the heyday of underground rap, with mixed results ... Everything from the production to the corny pulp-movie skits feels frozen in time. But if you want to be reminded why DOOM and Deck are held in such high esteem, you'd be better off sticking to the classics. Just ask any traditionalist: They don't make `em like they used to".
