"This is the second of Peterson's archival releases, courtesy of his wife, Kelly Peterson, as it follows last year's A Time For Love: The Oscar Peterson Quartet - Live in Helsinki, 1987. We can only salivate at what else lies in the vaults. Both are excellent but the heat from this one will especially leave your player or turntable steaming".

"OP in peak form working with Danish bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (NHØP) and steadfast drummer Louis Hayes (apparently this trio's only recorded live gig) in a breathtaking exercise of extra-sensory perception or, at least a level of rapport bordering on witchcraft ... With OP on top form, jazz piano albums don't come better than this".

"Remarkable dexterity at breakneck speed is this album's hallmark, as bassistNiels-Henning Orsted Pedersen for the first time backs the man he'd continue with for 15years (Louis Hayes, by then drumming with Peterson for six years, is deft, understated). Except for "Soft Winds," the eight tracks (average length: 8 minutes) are uptempo romps regaling in the pianist's superfast single-noteruns, left hand independence, big chords and fanciful embellishments".
