Living blues

2022 May

Robert H. Cataliotti

2022 May

"A two-CD (...) soundtrack to a new film that explores the contemporary music scene of the Crescent City, Take Me to the River: New Orleans is both rooted in tradition and dedicated to exploring new musical frontiers. The 26 tracks cover a broad range of musical styles that often intersect, including jazz, blues, funk, R&B/soul, brass band, Black Masking Indians, Cajun, and bounce. Living (and recently deceased) legends jin forces with contemporary stars and up-and-coming innovators. The musicianship is top-flight, and the grooves are always funky".
