"'Bach is to the pianist what the barre is to the dancer,' writes Lise de la Salle, and there is indeed something dancerly in the dynamism and precision she brings to the music on this disc ... It's quite a mix, but De la Salle's compelling playing makes it hang together".

"Lise de la Salle ... spielt das Italienische Konzert in einer erfrischend unkomplizierten Manier. Sie packt schnell und präzise zu, spielt manchmal vielleicht ein bisschen vordergründig, aber immer herzhaft musikantisch und ohne historisierendes Etepetete. Und auch im weiteren Verlauf überzeugt sie durch pianistische und musikalische Kompetenz".

"The fine idea underpinning this interesting album from Lise de la Salle is to follow the inspiration Bach has provided up to the present day, including rarities and new commissions ... If only De la Salle had explored new short pieces from several composers, rather than just one - Thomas Enhco ... They are not inappropriate ... But if you're going to programme something beside Bach, it has to be exceptionally good ... Her strength and rapidity are, up to a point, impressive, but there's much that is too fast, too loud and rather-in-your-face".

"The concept behing Lise de la Salle's Bach Unlimited is to interweave music either written by or inspired by JS Bach ... Bach's Italian Concerto makes for an extrovert curtain-raiser by way of de la Salle's frisky outer movements ... The Bach-Busoni Chaconne scintillates from start to finish ... De la Salle revels in the Liszt B-A-C-H Fantasia and Fugue's full-bodied keyboard deployment and galvanic rhetoric ... The sparse serenity of Enhco's L'aube nous verra enables listeners to decompress and prepare for a soft landing to a fascinating, albeit uneven programme".
