"The rock'n'roll quartet meet the hype with a calm and collected approach to their debut album that trusts their collective gut and searches for peace ... a band making sense of their sound, allowing it to breathe in real time, instead of pursuing some flawed perfection. And in a world of optimisation freaks and pressure to have yourself figured out, this down-to-earth debut is everything it needs to be".

"The much-hyped Manchester group sheds some of its early country influences, focusing instead on tightly wound indie rock and sharp, thoughtful songwriting. It's a winning combination ... Musically, it captures their quickly gained confidence; they bob in and out of their influences easily, taking advantage of whatever propels them ... they've forced themselves to assess their austere tastes, their precarious youth, and their ability to change with time. By roughening themselves up, Westside Cowboy have gotten just a little closer to knowing who they are".
