"The predecessor of this disc, Take Two ... featured a wide variety of composers, from Orlando Gibbons to Heinz Holliger ... This issue may be thought of as a companion volume. The range is much smaller: everything comes from the 20th and 21st century. The musicians seem to be having the time of their lives, and are happy to share the fun with us listeners - not that there are no serious reasons to appreciate their music-making. The thread that holds the whole thing together is the selection from Poulenc's incidental music to Jean Anouilh's comedy L'Invitation au château. The numbers act as brief refreshers between the major works on the programme. It makes good sense ... they are delicious gems, performed here in the style of café or salon music ... Of the more substantial pieces on the disc, I find the performers most convincing in Poulenc ... This disc, a must at least for all fans of Kopatchinskaja and company, provides plenty of entertainment".

"Recording of the month: [The playing] can affectionately embrace the whimsical to the manner born, but equally bristles with spellbinding virtuosity, compelling insight and crests a lifeforce carrying all before it ... Listening intently, Kopatchinskaja, Bieri and Leschenko bounce exuberantly off each other, generating a vividly characterised, conversationally sophisticated tour de force. It's capped by a finale overflowing with impish snap, crackle and pop. All in all, chamber music at its most vivaciously invigorating and life-enhancing".

"Pianist Polina Leschenko's contribution to the booklet of this new album with Patricia Kopatchinskja and Reto Bieri is an essay on tomatoes ... And if you can warm to that sort of quirkiness, you'll probably click with this absolute riot of a recital, which begins by easing seductively into a tiny Poulenc waltz and ends with (by now) all five players whooping their heads off and what sounds like a violin being smashed over the back of a chair ... And amid the flashing, needlepoing brilliance and headlong energy, there are moments ... where these three plays with such tender, whispered refinement that even the stoniest sceptic would have to concede that they clearly mean every note. Bieri and Leschenko's urgent, poetic account of Poulenc's death-haunted sonata is as powerful as any I've heard. This disc is provocative, it's flamboyant - but it's never, ever, dull".
